This week I did something I’ve always wanted to do, I went to watch England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 play in the FIFA World Cup. I had the opportunity to fly to Atlanta, Georgia and watch England face off against Argentina in the 2026 Semi Finals.

The match was played at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium which can either be open air or closed, and for this match it was closed. I was amazed at the sheer scale of the stadium and the amount of people that were there.

Please don't take me home

I think I have football chants seared into my memory now.

First look at the pitch as you go up the escalator.

Before the match they bring out the flags and sing the national anthems.

Full house.

Here I am yapping away to the English national anthem.

I'll spare you from the audio of this one.
Couple of moments until kick off

Half time was a wild time. Something I couldn’t believe was just how cheap food and drink was at the Atlanta stadium. It’s only $8 for a beer which I felt was very reasonable compared to other stadiums.

There unfortunately will be Messi in New York

Conclusion

Ultimately England didn’t win, but it’s coming home eventually, and it was an amazing experience. Big up to the England team and my fellow fans, until next time.
